They will as soon as we figure out how to produce hydrogen much more cheaply. Right now its more expensive than oil based fuel.

The energy to make hydrogen could be used to power cars instead.

It takes more energy to harness hydrogen than it is worth. However if you find a way, we have oceans full of hydrogen. Virtually an unlimited supply.

H20 - HYDROGEN DIOXIDE = water: Seperate Hydrogen from the oxygen and you have an extremely flammable combination when thaey are seperated. How ironic.

Not until we can decide on a delivery system. Hydrogen requires an infrastructure comparable to oil. Until we can find a way to store large amounts safely, I would not expect hydrogen to be a big player in future transportation.

Two reasons I would think, no. First, think how much energy is used in preparing hydrogen. Second, think Hindenburg.
