a nuclear weapons program and is helping Israel's enemies. North Korea is on the verge of employing long range missiles to reach the United States, and we are so tied down in Iraq and Afghanistan that we are impotent to take effective measures. Our diplomacy is ineffectual if we cannot get China and Russia on board with us. The world is a more dangerous place. Waist deep in the big Muddy and the old fool says march on.

We are safer at home, but not just because we toppled Sadams regime, more because of the homeland security measures that the ACLU & NYTimes are so up in arms about. The Middle East has been a festering wound which absolutely had to be addressed at some point. Afghanistan and Iraq were starting points, and yes it is a long drawn out sticky mess, but a solid foothold in the middle of the festering wound. China & Russia are being intentionally uncooperative because they get alot of oil from Iran, and they are happy to do anything to knock the US down a few pegs, regardless of whats good for world security.

This whole deal in the Middle East is to draw Iran into it. That way Israel will have a legitimate shot at taking out Iran's nuclear program. If you want a dirty job done cleanly, hire the Jews. If by "the old fool," you mean President Bush, he is just doing what his bosses tell him to do.

We might not be safer, but the Iraqis are happier, overall. Israel can dominate the countries surrounding it (syria, lebanon, etc.). Iran won't do anything, in fear that the US and possibly UN will attack them. We should get our troops out now. Sadly, the middle east is filled with a lot of good people and just a small percentage of Muslim extremists who will keep the region in termoil.

Has there been an attack in the US since Iraq and Afganistan? I don't think so it is working, attacking the terrorists in their home is they way to kill them.

And we have way more soldiers than you must think, we have enough troops in S. Korea to invade N. Korea with ease. We aren't the only Superpower for no reason. China and Russia both agreed with the strict sanctions on N. Korea so they are on our side. Recheck your "facts" and try again.

I think the longer we stay involved in that war, that we are only becoming a bigger and bigger excuse for terrorists to attack us. In Canada, we stayed out of Iraq, but we supported the war in Afghanistan and now Canada is being listed as one of the countries that is being viewed by al Quaida as a potential target ... and some of our people who were born here have begun to take on terrorist activities. Thank God, they were stopped before they can carry it out.

We are no safer and in fact world safety is less stable. Our current administration has no plan for peace and had no clue what type of mess they were creating when we attacked Iraq on false pretenses.

Yah that's it. Maby we need to put our heads in the sand and hope that it all just goes away. Or we can take care of what we need to when we need to. We can't just say "oh we better just leave this threat alone as we might need to do something about some unknown threat later".

The 'old fool' is a coward - but as long as he can get other people to fight his battles and suffer the bloodshed, he'll continue to profess his belief that any conflict can be settled if you've got enough guns and ammo. His rich friends get richer, and more people DIE. -RKO-
