Not thinking about the future. We should have set aside even just a tiny amount early in our marriage. By now, we would have accummulated a lot of wealth.

It hasn't ruined our marriage because we try not to worry over past mistakes and instead we learned from them. Thankfully, we're not too old to fix this!

We've learned a lot about each other's financial beliefs and habits. Not a lot of good stuff either! But, love is unconditional so we take each other "warts and all".

It hasn't been easy. Especially while we were still very young and immature. But love came before money so we weathered the storms.

Too many people let finances ruin their marriages. Why? If given the choice, would you want to be rich or happy? Do you know how many rich people would trade their wealth to find their one true love?

Ask a couple in love if they would trade their love for riches.

Why does this feeling change after marriage?

I don't know.

But, Albert Einstein once said that the strongest power in the universe is the power of compound interest. Make it work for you. Only tiny amount of money set aside every month will snowball into a huge sum in later years. Young people never think that day will come. But it does.

That is the biggest financial mistake we've made. :(

Please don't make the same mistake!

Not purchasing a home immediately. Purchasing a home is like saving money. Even with your mortgage payment, the house appreciates everyday. Big, big booboo.
