i have windows xp in my computer and my computer is freezing(hanging).?

is this common problen in xp or my xp cd is not ok. i am using antivirous and formatted my hard disk too. but still it freezes.

i want to know that with 850 Mhz and 256 RAM does windows XP run smoothely.

Assume that your HDD cable is ok (is it firmly attached to HDD & motherboard?), and other hardwares are not bad (remove first floppy & CD rom, sometimes there were dead!), there's still problem on your hard disk.

Have an extra hard disk and install everything.
