Please don't put any sandpaper on your new wood floor.
You really can not remove scratches, (dents can with a little steam), but you can fill them. Find a furniture "candle". It's a wax stick that comes in different wood colors. Get the one that most closely matches your floor, and rub it into the scratches. This eliminates the need to re-finish entire floor.

depends on how deep the scratch is. If it's not too deep, you should be able to lightly sand the area, and refinish. If it's deeper, you may have to find a wood filler, then refinish the area.

if they are light scratches that only scratch the clear coat, very fine steel wool rubbed lightly over the area then apply a coat of polyurethene. if they are deeper make sure they are cleaned out you can use a toothbrush and tooth paste to clean them out ,let dry and then apply a coat of polyurethene.make sure you get all dirt and toothpaste out of scratches and apply poly. in very light coats.
