Many will say that trading 33 points per game is a bad move, but I don't necessarily agree. Like you, I feel that now is the time to trade Iverson.
Let's face facts:
1. Since the 2001 series with the Lakers, the Sixers have only gone down. They have never approached the championship level since then.
2. Iverson is in his thirties and plays with reckless abandon. While he does typically play through injury, how much more can a 5 foot 10 inch, 160 pound shooting guard take?
3. The Sixers can't get rid of Chris Webber, the other major salary cap problem on the team. Nobody wants to take a power forward with bad knees and a bad attitude to match.
4. While Iverson does score 30 a game, he does at the expense of the rest of the team. Granted, nobody else on the team--save for Igoudala--can shoot (Korver has the range but doesn't make enough). He rarely dishes the ball.
5. The team isn't winning with him; the team might not win without him. What's the difference? Salary cap relief.
Sixers fans just have to hope that Billy King doesn't pull another Charles Barkley fiasco by trading Iverson for scraps from other teams. The best deal rumor that I've heard is Iverson for Corey Maggette and Shaun Livingston (Clippers). All the other offers haven't been nearly as solid.

Are you serious dude? Why should they trade Iverson? Hello, he's been on that team as long as he's been for a reason. Trade him while they still can? Your crazy, they need Iverson. It will be bananas if they ever were to do that!

Yes because right now they could trade for young talent and draft pics and he could make another team a contender which he can't do right now in Philly because he's getting old and they are in no position to get any talent to play side by side with AI. The only way they'll get anything for the future is if they trade him. The time is now. It's like when they traded Barkley tp Phoenix.

i think he should belong to the bulls because the bulls are a very good team know they got big ben and tyrus thomas and the other draft pick and i am hearing a lot of rumors of Kevin Garnett is coming to chicago so if they get big ben and Kevin Garnett and iverson they will be GREAT and no other team can beat chicago if they did get iverson and kg.....GO BULLS I LOVE THE BULLS

I doubt it
unless they get a superstar franchise player like K. G.
and that would be wierd
If not I can only see them getting worse plus loosing an Identity
the sixers have been all adout A.I. 4 the past like 6 years

well i don't know.....but from Iversons standpoint.... he should be going to a contenders team..... Suns, Spurs, Mavs, Heat and one of those type teams, or even on the Celtics he'd be better off. (cause they have shown HEAVY interest)
But from the 76ers standpoint, a rebuilding project would be reasonable but if they are gonna rebuild they gotta try and get rid of Webber and his enormous contract.

well Iverson himself said "I'm staying with the 76'ers if they want me. If they don't want me, I'll leave." So if they didn't want him, they would have traded him by now.

they shouldn't, just give AI the right supporting cast, and they'll be back in the playoffs.
AI just said he wants to stay with the Sixers, if they still want him. Unless they send him to CBA, he could play for any team.
