I have dust and lint in the cracks of my keyboard keys. I was wondering how I can remove some of the buildup because I think it might be affecting how I type. And people with rude or smart remarks, you can keep them to yourselves, or you WILL get reported!

ok, so i cant think of what they are called but there are cans with compressed air in them you can find at the store that are used to clean computers. they have a long, thin tube that comes with it and very cold, very fast air will come out of it and clean all of the dust out of your keyboard. its safe to use, no water involved, no chemicals involved, and you can use it to clean the rest of your computer as well.

here is a link to one to give an idea of what they look like, you can go to any store like wal-mart, radio shack, best buy, office depot, office max, etc... to get one

Go to the electronics section in most any store -- WalMart or Target, for example -- and buy a can of air marketed just for that purpose. It blasts out the dust. You can also use a small paintbrush, but it's only going to knock the dust down under the keys. For grimy build-up, just unplug your key board (or when your computer is turned off) use a rag with a little rubbing alcohol to wipe the keys off. On some keyboards, like the one I use at work, you can pop each key off and thoroughly clean it. Time-consuming but worth it to remove germy gunk.

go to radio shack or best buy and get a can of compressed air to blow out the dust between and behind the keys. you can do this also with a small canister type vacuum cleaner by reversing the flow of air so it blows instead of sucking.

then just lightly dampen (no dripping) a cloth and wipe off the rest of it.

why don't you like smart remarks? i think some are very entertaining. :)

Get a butter knife, a can of compressed air(any eletronics store has them) and a wet rag.

Pop off all the buttons one at a time and clean them with the rag (remove all the sticky stuff). do this to all the keys and then spay the can of air anywhere you can't reach to remove dust... or you can even just skip the cleaning of the buttons and stick the nozzle of the can of air inbetween the keys to blow out the dirt caught underneath.

Go get a can of compressed air and simply blow the dust and lint out of the keyboard. Don't be a bonehead and wash it like some suggest.

theres 2 ways. 1 remove the keys and clean under it with rubbing alcohol and replace them or
2 buy a can of compressed air and blow it out
the first remedy is great for a sticky keyboard the second for dust you may have to remove one sie to get all the dirt out

Use a cotton swab to dust it off, or a lens-cleaning cloth (like one would use for binoculars, glasses, or a camera) with just a tiny bit of cleaning solution. Don't use soap or water. You may also be able to vacuum it out if you use the proper attachment on a vacuum cleaner and do it gently.

I use a soft duster with a handle that has some kind of magnetic thing going on that pulls dust out of the crevices. I bought mine at Walgreen's.

there is a keyboard cleaner which you can buy from many stores: Staples, Office Depot etc.

They go by the generic names of Keyboard Antistatic cleaner.

Don't cost that much and many people have them (under $15.00) for the most part.
