I have a poem in front of me--
THE COCONUT BOY
The coconut boy,
He's made of coconut shell,
He's stuck to a coconut tree,
He's filled with coconut milk,
What's the fun in that?
Poor coconut boy.

It seems to me that it is suggesting the difficulty of finding individuality when you are surrounded, encased and filled by the will, restraints and needs of another... there is no boy or coconut, it is constantly the boy and the coconut...

Maybe that the boy's personality is being compared with the life and puropose of a coconut.
He's hard on the outside...I mean, hard to penetrate with emotion and therefore has no feelings.
He's stuck to roots as in family values (virtues) and vices.
''He's filled with coconut milk'' - maybe he likes to drink it a lot, or has white blood for some reason. Or that his blood tastes like coconut milk.
''what's the fun in that?'' - he sounds like a character like Dracula.
