EXODUS guitarist Gary Holt made these comments I thinks this about sums it up:

The whole nu-metal thing died and I was so glad about that, but now we have all these emo kids who weigh like 105 pounds and wear girls' pants that won't even stay on there, 'cuz they have no *** to hold their pants up, they left their *** in the other pants. And they got their hair covering half their face, and the crooked hat, and I'm starting to miss nu-metal, to tell ya the truth. I mean, they have taken all the testosterone out of heavy metal, these guys. Stop whining and crying... Emo. The only emotion that's supposed to be in this music is anger and rage, not sissy complaints. I just don't get it. I look at those kinds and I'm like, 'Lift some weights, eat a hamburger, go do something.'"

emo is not metal it is a sucky commercial sold by the record labels to sell clothes and make up through hot topic

lol true Metal fans are out there, but all that emo is sucking the soul out of us all. maybe all the metal heads should get together and shower the emo kids with happiness, and rainbows, and love (since they thrive on pain, sorrow, and over the top emotions)....oh or better yet lets just get them all some prozac.

have you listened to any emo? Theres no testosterone in it!! Metal is still relevant to those of us that want it to be......it just isn't pushed down our throats like alot of these new genres are....

It all depends on the individual's taste. Personally, I don't care for either.
