Don't get me started!!!!!!!! It burns me up to no end. All my hard earned money is going for other people's support. I would never waste my money that way. Try being responsible with your eating for starters.

Obesity is a disease...just like heart disease or anything else. If they can pass the medical criteria they should be allowed to have the surgery. In addition, if they are obese they probably have heart problems, high blood pressure, diabetic, arthritis and many other things that cost you hundreds and hundreds of dollars each month per person in medical checkups and prescriptions. Once they loose the weight most if not all these factors will go away and you will most likely end up spending less tax dollars on them. If you are going to discriminate against obese military wives then then all military wives need to be excluded from the medical benefits. I think you need to do more homework on the effects of obesity....obesity kills.

I think that gastric bypass is a unnecessary procedure. I have no problem with military wives getting any medical attention they need.

Don't fret. Your tax dollars are being wasted in a lot of ways.
But in this case, I am sure the services will say that these procedures help keep the military docs current with the latest techniques and procedures.
As opposed to the docs sitting around doing nothing.

So you think that the families of military people should NOT be given health care? You do realize that is one of the major incentives for people joining the military, along with education, don't you? There are lots of poor Americans out there with no access to health care, and no prospect of paying for an education and they tend to be the people who actually join the army, etc.
Then there are the people who tend to complain about how their tax money is spent, but do not join and whose children do not join. (Including all the Congressmen and President, whose kids are NOT serving in Iraq and Afghanistan, BTW.)
I guess you would like it better if they would serve for a dollar a day and room and board, but I can assure you, those days are past.

I paid a lot of taxes that many people benefited from, but not me.
I have no control over a gastric procedure or one to tighten some's a s s. I live with it, so should every one else.

I don't think it's right at all, I think they should be scrutinized just like the general public. I couldn't just go get one because I wanted one. I think it only fair that we all be given a level playing field, none getting more advantages then the other..
