apparently this is normal

I used the liquid and when I got up to brush my teeth my tongue had a black film. I did some research about it because I was wondering what the heck was going on with me, and some websites mentioned that if you use pepto bismol it can do this because it contains bismuth.

I have! I have also never met anyone else who has had this problem. It really freaked me out the first time it happened. I suspect it is to do with the pink dye in it but I have no solid answer, sorry.

I have heard that has happened to people, but I have never used the liquid kind.

I have. It is normal...it makes my poop black, too, which is why I never take Pepto.

we used to do that on purpose to get out of school. if you chew enough tablets your tongue turns black.
