You can't. Once you've reformatted, the old info is gone forever.

It depends on the kind of format performed. If it was a "quick format" the data should still be on your drive, but inaccessible. You can use a program like GetDataBack NTFS (works only for Windows XP/2000 data) which is available for purchase to recover your information if you move your hard drive into another computer.

If a full format was performed, your data will have been completely erased and is nearly impossible to recover. There are companies that specialize in recovering data like this which may be able to help you, but are EXTREMELY expensive and may ultimately be unable to recover your data.

You don't, the files that were on the drive are gone. There are data restoration services that can go through the drive and see if anything is recoverable but you're going to pay by the megabyte. In a word, there are probably a few things that are recoverable, but not available in the commercial market and it would probably be too expensive to get your data back from a restoration service. For all intents and purposes the data that was on your drive is gone.

you would need a 2nd hard drive with an operating system installed. You also need some sort of recovery software. You can try to download the software from

Maybe you can't. But maybe if you had recovery software you might be able to.
