First the subway leaks, then tunnel disasters ! I think they need drug testing !

The contractors are partially to blame, but the Government in Boston needs to take some of the blame as well.
Contractors go through a bid process - the lowest bid gets the job. This means cutting corners, using cheaper materials, paying average labor instead of a lot of experience. . . If a contractor gets a government bid, they are in! So they do it whatever the "cost". It scares me that someone built those tunnels, then crossed their fingers.

We have contractors like that in South Florida, unfortunately our governor and local politicians are not as dedicated to the safety of their community as in Boston.
