I'm a Braves fan and the only thing i can contribute our recent struggles to is our bullpen. we have the worst bullpen in the majors. our only reliable reliever is villarreal and we have no closer. we could also use another starting pitcher. if we fix that you'll see another streak of division titles start.

The bullpen reeks. Not to mention that other than John Smoltz and Chuck James, the starting pitching leaves a lot to be desired. What's wrong with Tim Hudson - he's pitching like a Little Leaguer? If the bullpen wasn't so important and pitchers could go the distance, that might help since the bullpen certainly isn't doing much more than causing them to lose games.
It looks like Chipper Jones is finally starting to hit the ball, but he needs to start hitting more out of the park like the Chipper of old.
As a long-time Braves fan, I haven't given up hope - yet, but I'm getting close. It also doesn't help that teams like the Mets have gotten better while the Braves basically sat back and did nothing other than pick up Renteria. But that's what happens when you have corporate baseball ownership like those idiots from Time-Warner who own the team. Wish they'd sell it to someone who isn't afraid to spend some money on decent players. It would be nice if Ted Turner were to buy it again, but he says he won't. Down with corporate ownership!!!
Go Braves!!!!

I like the spirit from that Braves fan. I am a die-hard Mets fan and I won't give up till the end. I am also a typical pessimistic Mets fan and won't assume they have it locked up until it's 100% certain.
Braves need pitching just like the Mets. Maybe an acquisition or two in free agency. Hudson needs to pick it up too.

They have serious bullpen problems. Just look at how many games the Braves have lost because the bullpen could not hold the lead!! IF they make a trade before the trading deadline, they may still catch the Mets who are famous for second half collapses!!
Chow!!

They are usually dealing with weaker competition for the division. The success of the mets this year is just exposing how mediocre they are and have been the past few years. They need to do a little roster revamping this off season

sammiegirl, are you for real? (below) because they got rid of furcal? renteria is batting .330 which, the last time i checked, was a tad better than the .255 or whatever the hell furcal is hitting. anyway, don't look now, but the braves have won 13 of 16 now and the mets better start sweating.
