Nadal is the only one who can beat Federer and that is becoming more and more obvious...and yes...ON clay...But Nadal will perfect his game in time , he`s still young and has a lot to learn and then...even on grass Nadal might beat Federer is he remains at a stand still, which is unlikely but...you never know. Right now..except Nadal..Federer has no oponent! I think the right question is Who will beat Nadal in about 3 years?...now that will be a dilemma...

Nadal can definitely beat Federer. Roddick was thought to be Federer's toughest challenger a year to two years ago, but his game has slipped. If Roddick gets back on track, he will definitely compete with Federer, although his 1-11 record versus him doesn't quite say that. Lleyton Hewitt could be a guy who beats Federer, but it will be very hard. Hewitt lacks power on his serve, so he will have to do it on a day where Federer isn't playing great tennis. Marco Ancic was the last man to beat Federer on grass, so he does have a chance. David Nalbandian is also a guy who can beat Federer. All of these guys are good, but Federer is great. It is extremely hard to beat Federer. I would have to say, unless some young guy who is great on every surface comes up, Nadal probably has the best chance against Federer.

First of all, those of you who said Roddick are either complete idiots, or you're living in a dream world where Americans always win. Roddick has only beaten Federer once out of eleven meetings(back in 2003, Montreal), and in Federer's ten wins against Roddick, none of them were even close, and all of them ended with Roddick stomping off the court crying like a baby. The truth is, Nadal and Nalbandian have both beat him multiple times on hard court, so they should be able to do it again. The key to beating Federer is to attack him and force him to play defensively. This is why Nadal seems to dominate Federer in every match they've ever played(other then 2006 Wimbledon Final). Any player who can manage the pace of the game and take control out of Federer's hands can win.

honestly? right now nobody can beat him (except yeah nadal on clay) a lot of players have been close to beating him but still they couldnt. he works like a robot. he has mastered the art (or sport). sampras maybe if he was still playing. but roddick oh no he definitely cant. he even gets beaten by the lower ranking players. he's a goner. i wanna say james blake (coz i love him) but i know he cant. so really nobody can beat federer (and honestly im sick of seeing him win everytime)

David Nalbandian has the best chance, he beat Federer at the season ending championship last year, and plays well on all surfaces; and is one of the few players to beat Federer more than once in the last few years. Plus their all-time head to head record is 6-6. Nalbanian is one of the few players that don't having a losing record against Federer. It's always a tough match when these two play.

Mario Ancic was the first person to beat Federer on his best court which is grass. Then Nadal beat him on the hard courts.

Nadal, maybe. but Federer will be no. 1 for a long time... Hes only 24??? something. and crazy fast... anyone see the Rolex compliation of his running around and doing his cool move, where he jumps for the back-hand towards the left side and only looking at his racquet.
