If you re pc is older than 6 months it's probably agp.Open Start/control panel/performance and maintenance/system/hardware/device manager. Then find display adapters click on the +.This will tell you what graphics card you have. Then search net.Unless you have a new very high end pc it will be agp.Just by you asking this question I'm 99% sure you have agp. Also you could hit del when pc is booting and look in bios.Hit escape to exit so if you accedently changed anything it won't save changes.Pc owners manual would also have info.Beyond that take card to pc store

AGP has wider "fingers" (gold connector strips). It is also shorter than PCI Express and usually has one or two divits.
PCI Express has thinner fingers and is longer than AGP with one divit near the top.
If it's regular PCI then it's really old with thin fingers and has one divit near the back and is roughly the same size or slightly larger than an AGP slot.

PCI slots are usually white but they can be other colors, the AGP slot is usually green but it can be black or brown as well. An AGP slot is above and off-set from the PCI slots. Now, if you meant PCI from PCIe, that's another story. Again, the PCI slots will be white (or some other color) and PCIe slots are usually black.

with out understanding more suitable about your laptop that is not plausible to say what the superb improve route may be. A video card and pics card are in basic terms diverse names for an similar project. Getting one will strengthen the performance of pics on the laptop yet not widespread performance. in case you laptop is mostly very sluggish, then that is totally in all likelihood you favor more suitable RAM. Getting more suitable RAM will in all likelihood grant a larger strengthen than a pics card even if that is difficult to say with out understanding your present day laptop specifications.
