I currently have acne and use a product to treat it. I use it everday because if I don't pimples start appearing on my face. However, I was wondering if acne is a lifetime thing or does it go away when one reaches a certain age?

Typically as a teenager you start developing acne (I'm 17 and for me I get about one or two pimples/zits a month...not bad). It usually goes away as you enter your twenties, but not all the time. Sometimes it doesnt go away. Sometimes it'll go away and in your 30's-40's it'll come back. Acne is not an age thing. Acne is the formation of bacteria in your skin. So if you don't take care of your skin, you'll get acne. Usually in the summer time when you sweat you get more breakouts

Well I've been asured it goes away(I'm hoping it does!). The reasons teenagers get them is because their hormones are extremely unbalanced and spots are a side affect, but when a person gets older their hormones settle down so they get less spots (well so I'm told anyway). But mostly it comes down to the person, everyones different- spots are a lifelong thing for some a a short-time thing for others. Try not to worry about spots- everyone has them XD.

Sometimes it goes away, and sometimes it doesn't. It just depends on the person, I guess, because I never had acne as a teen, but I have it now (I'm 24).

My bro' has had acne cover his face just about every day since his shift into adulthood. He is now 30 and he still has it all over his facial skin but its not as bad as he got it in his early years.
