I know that a lot of times it has to do with facilitating snorting drugs etc. but I don't think that's necessarily it for everyone. For example, I've seen a lot of black guys with all their nails long, not just their pinkies (I think the pinky thing is associated with drugs...). Serious answers please (i.e. not just that they must be dressing like women etc. because I don't think that's the case)... Anyway, I've seen it in the food industry too, which I think is so nasty. I complained to the Starbucks where I am a regular because it grossed me out so much... I mean, I am pretty close to West Bloomfield, MI which is a nice area, so you know, people like us don't want to look at that! Thanks!

There is no reason other than that's just part of their culture. And sher_moon your an idiot. It's obviously not a big issue retard. It's just something that she noticed that she was wondering about. Are we only allowed to talk about issues that YOU consider serious? Get the **** out of here. And it is about color because black men in proportion have longer nastier nails on average. Iv'e seen plenty of other people with grimy nails but they are usually not as long as a large portion of blacks keep them.

the long pinky nails are used for picking their noses.. seriously.. it's also the case here in the Philippines.. i have some classmates of mine that grow their pinky nails so that they can pick their noses better.. also.. i don't know.. but maybe in culture? cuz in the chinese culture.. you're not allowed to cut your nails after some event.. or sumthing like that (im chinese but im not really sure..).. just ask a black friend of yours.. or if you can pick up the courage.. as one that looks friendly enough for a conversation.. =D

lol what a statement. if you dont want to look at long nails, dont look for them then! not every black male has long nails. ive seen plenty of white menwith nasty yellow nails.. i dont think this issue should be associated with colour.

I'm a guy, and privately, I don't like long nails. We know a lot of like lengthy, painted nails cause they're "so pretty", but I don't like them.
