It seems to me that the US is convinced that world politics is like a John Wayne movie and that the US will fight the entire battle armed with a 6 shooter that never needs reloading.
Russia .........not you friend nukes tied to Iran.
China .........mulit million person army Nukes ( a lot of them) also not your friend. Strong ties to North Korea also not your friend.
Europe and emergeing super power with nukes and not really your friend either and it soes not have Israel listed as good guy friend ..........that could be quite a problem.
The Arab world and most of South America - oh you haven't been on the christmas card list there for a while have you?Experts YOUR experts are saying a 29-50% chance of a nuclear strike within your borders in the next 2-10 yrs!Look at the destruction of Japan LOOK at it. Russia and China are also not friends with each other either, no worries there, to attack us is to weaken them making them more likely to be at the whim of the other. We could invade N. Korea and China would do nothing so as not to weaken in front of the Soviets.

Europe? They have let their militaries decay. France made that policy to make it easier to fire employees and make it easier for others to find work, and they have rioting in the streets. We have ties to some countries there so it isn't like all of Europe is going to jump on the screw America band wagon. Besides, a lot of raw meterials in Europe come from America. Also, who would stand with them if Russia took designs on them?

The Arab world has been in turmoil for centuries. We do have allies there but the news likes to focus on the dismal so you rarely hear about them.

South America? Sure we have a few yelling about us down there but over all we have good relations with a lot of the countries. They don't want to lose the tourist dollars not to mention the raw meterials we buy from them.

I doubt any taking on of the world is going to happen. Too many depend on us staying the way we are. Most of the animosity of the US is bound from envy.
