My family and I are moving from Canada to the USA, and it'll be a while until I get my green card.

Should I work at Wal-Mart in the meantime?

Don't work at "Mall-Wart"; pick a local business... Sam Walton's (founder of Wal-Mart) ideal was to run all other stores in small towns out of business so he could control profits... :-(

I recently joined an exciting company called FreeLife International. They are paying some of its members hundreds and even thousands of dollars to do something you and I do everyday—recommend a good product or service to people. Have you ever recommended a good movie or restaurant to a friend? We do this all the time yet never get paid for our word-of-mouth advertising efforts.
FreeLife has changed all of that. FreeLife is a leader in the Health and Wellness industry and they pay people like you and me money for recommending their products to other people. And the best part is that they will give you your own Web page so you can begin making money by recommending the products to other people. All you have to do is refer them to your own Website.
It’s really that simple! Simply go to www.awesomeberry.gojiteam.com and click on Make Money see how to get started making money right away. If you have any questions, please let me know. If not, I’ll follow-up in a few days to see what you thought.
Sincerely,
Alexis Watkins-Terry

I also moved to the USA from Canada and it can be a lengthy process to get your Green Card. Under the terms of my initial work permit I was restricted to the company that transfered me to America. Wherever you decide to work make sure it is within the boundaries of your work permit. The USCIS (new name of the INS) will do extensive background checks on you before issuing the Green Card. If you've been violating the rules of your permit you won't be granted permanent residency.

What would be the benefit of working at Wal-Mart? I don't get the connection - unless you like to greet people at the door.

No , I believe Walmart doesn't pay well.

Home Depot would probably be better. I think they are not just employees, they are called associates. Reason being? They give them stock shares as employees.

If you are 18 and do not have kids:
