The Pentagon has reported that homosexuality is a mental disorder, do you agree?

Scientists have abandoned the possibility of homosexuals being mentally ill long ago, what information does the Pentagon and the DOD have, to come to this conclusion?
What is your opinion, without making insulting remarks?

I think the rise in homosexuality is a blessing and necessary change to the world...we are far too over populated as it is, we should thank them!!!

Is it a mental disorder? I don't think so, we are all created differently, some are more emotional, some are more mental, each person is different and unique, why is everything an illness. People born with down's syndrome, they just need a little extra help in life, they don't need FIXED, I think the same goes for gay people.

See, if they declare it a mental disorder, then they can discharge homosexuals under the mental fitness guidelines the military has, and it will hide the TRUE reason they are being discharged.

I have known some gay men, and they do not look at straight men and want them. Men are typically homophobic, and men run the military, and are the majority serving. They "freak out" at the thought of a gay man being in a fox hole with them. It's sad, really. Who cares who people sleep with? I've seen some guys with girls that are really no prize. . . Some men might choose to be gay rather than date those women. It's all choice, and shouldn't matter anywhere else but when two people are behind closed doors.

OK lets say that they are right for just one second , homosexuality is a mental disorder and unnatural . so now lets just ask , why aren't they working in a pill to prevent gayness if it is a mental disorder ??? or could it be that they know how wrong they are ??? now a question to anybody else , would u or would u not consider a waste of taxes a program to prevent gayness ??? or if u think it is personal choice to be gay , why are they calling a personal choice a disorder ??? so is it a disorder or a choice ??? . i think all this leads to the same the bush administration has been doing nothing but to ignore the real problems which they haven't been able to resolve and has created all kind of distractions to prevent people to see their incompetence .

I think it is a gene disorder and also the public makes it look fun . I really dont think that it is a mental problem at all. They are just making some lame excuse. I believe that there are some people who either have too many male hormones when they are female or too many female hormones when they are male. But they way the world makes Homosexuality look it is just a big game to others. I feel sorry for someone that has those urges that dont necessarly put themselves in the position intentionally. The ones that are playing games with their sexuality is their fault.

incase you haven't been looking at the news and actually researching what you are claiming....it's not true. The pentagon didn't just recently report this, it was in a file or manual from standards long ago that they just didn't bother updating. True it was updated even after psychologist dismissed that homosexuality was a disorder, but they have also publically announced they were sorry for the mistake and have corrected it since then. Please research before questioning. thx

I don't think it's true. It's how you're made. Myself and plenty of my friends have just always been gay. Even when I was a small child you could tell. It's not a mental disorder, it's not a choice for most(some do choose it, but very seldom). It's not some horrible grusom thing we need to fix. Generally, gays don't care who anyone else sleeps with, so I don't know why most are concerned. As long as it's not physically harming anyone or anything else. Let people be who they are, whether by choice or by pre-destination.

Homosexuality is merely a "choice". Some choose it
some don't. Some are experimenting to see what it's
all about. Some see Hollywood stars being gay, so then
they want to be gay if it's the "in" thing to do. People
used to be ashamed to admit it but now it's called
"coming out of the closet". I wish they'd stayed in the
closet and not bother everyone else with their sexual
preference.

No, I wouldn't put too much "stock" into anything the Pentagon has to say. I would say that Neoconservatism is a bonified mental disorder and I look for it to be l listed in the next DSM update.

I whole heartily agree that homosexuality is a mental disorder
because it has been proven by medical research that the two
frontal lobes of the homosexual brain are smaller than normal. Look it up!!!

I agree its all in how the brain recives input and how the chemicals react-but ones past or how they were raised comes into play as well-leading to the finaly outcome from the stimuli.
