What are early symptoms of appendicitis? Have slight pain in lower right side, had normal bowel movement, not mensturating, definitely not pregnant. Not gall bladder attack, had gall bladder removed 3 years ago. How do u know if u should go to hospital?

Slight pain..... don't rush to the hospital. If I remember correctly, (it was over 20 yrs ago) when I had it, it wasn't when you put pressure ON that it hurt, it was when you released your hand from the area that the pain increased. Do you have a "ask a nurse" program in your area? Some towns have a phone number that you can call and ask questions of a registered nurse. I would check into that first. Good Luck

It starts with a dull pain which can increase anywhere from 4 - 48 hours from onset. Nausea, vomiting, fever, constipation or diarrhea and loss of appetite are some of the symptoms, although there are some people who don't have any symptoms other than pain.

Because appendicitis can be dangerous if the appendix burst, I would suggest that you go to your nearest Emergency Room. There have been times when doctors have misdiagnosed appendicitis, so if the pain persists, be sure to see your doctor again.

There are other problems that can cause pain which mimicks the symptoms of appendicitis, like gastric diseases.

To be on the cautious side....it never hurts to go to the ER. They will ask you what you are feeling, for how long....probably run some tests, and tell you what is going on.

To me, yeah, it sounds like it could be your appendix. First thing I was going to say, before I completely read your question, was a possible gall bladder attack. just had mine out a few months ago.....VERY painful!

Could be gas. Give it about 3-5 more hours....Continued pain should be followed by a trip to the hospital.
