I am a single father. My ex-wife left me and my son when he was only 9 months old. She then got on welfare and HUD by claiming that I had left her and my son. After the devorce was final, I took all my paperwork, and my son, to the SRS office and the HUD office. They wouldn't tell me anything due to confidentiallity, but they made copies of all the papers, and about a month later, my ex-wife was living with her mother because she lost all benifits.

If somebody has legal custody of your son, then this is legitimate. If not, place an anonymous call to the welfare department to ask that they investigate the matter.

Depends on if that person has custody of your son, if so then that's where the benefits should go. They shouldn't go to you if you don't have custody of your son.
