I am outside for hours under the sun trying to get a tan but my color stays the same! I don't burn or anything. It's just that nothing happens. Why is that? I used to tan really easy, why not anymore?

Try tanning oil that is what my mom always uses to get sun she is dark complected so its hard for her to tan. I am dark complected to I just wear a low SPF out in the sun. Also i agree with the person who mentioned about water but i recommend in the pool on a raft the water attracts sun.

I wish I could just stay in the sun for hours and not burn. I don't tan either, but I burn and then peel, and then I'm just as white as I was before, only it's all new skin, so it burns even easier. Maybe you can try a spray tan or a tanning bed, where you are getting concentrated doses of UV in a short time.

what type of lotion are you using? Try this- Did you notice when you were a little kid when you are jumping in and out the water and you get this wonderful tan. Well get a spray bottle and fill it up with water. Keep spraying yourself every time you dry up from the son. That should do the trick.

I don't know the answer to this, but you should know by now that tanning is very bad for your skin and causes cancer and premature ageing. Fake tan will work like a charm and wont damage your skin!

if you have dark skin, maybe you don't notice the difference and you're tanning slowly. If you're tanning slowly then you won't notice the difference because you get used to seeing your skin that shade.

some people say that you are only born with so much melanin and your body does not reproduce it, so when it's used - it's gone.
i, personally, don't have that 'problem'. i wish i did. i get dark with spf 30 in 5-10 minutes!
