I think,if there is UFO stuff to cover, one reason is to keep people from panicking.Another reason would probably be to keep information from other countries so if they did make contact again, our country would have an advantage. The only thing is,we have no way of knowing if other countries are doing the same.Maybe China knows something we don't know and that's why they happen to live longer there.People go either one way or another;wanting to tell everybody everything,or wanting to keep it all to themselves. Our government is the latter.

since there is no actual truth to tell, it beats making up a bunch of stuff about UFOs and trying to sell it to the general public as truth.

Not only is that a waste of money, the inevitable holes in the story just make it look even MORE like they are trying to cover something. Geez, you could send the pyramids to Mars folks to Mars where the pyramids are supposed to be, and when they only find some pointy hills, they will argue the gummint bombarded them from orbit before they sent them there.

It is a lose lose situation for governments. Entertain for the moment, that there are no and never have been any alien visitors. Some people so want to believe or are so convinced by their own perceived experiences that ANYTHING a government official says or does on the matter will be interpreted as coverup.

Any non-governmental authorities who agree with the government (either in perpetrating a UFO myth that disagrees with some true believers thinking on the matter, or by denying the existence of such things) become "duped" or are part of the "conspiracy" to try and discourage in the minds of the believers.

You can't cover up something that doesn't exist!!

Don't you think that if there were any "REAL" UFOs in existence, with the kind of technology available today, easily accessible by average folks, (camcorders, digital cameras, amateur telescopes, webcams, etc.), that we'd have some CLEAR form of recorded history of these so-called ufo sightings, landings, and abductions?

They're afraid to upset the status quo - think, for example, what would happen to the world's religions if it were suddenly announced that there was life in the galaxy besides us. It would probably also result in tremendous advances in such areas as engineering and science almost overnight and the result would be massive unemployment.

In short, we just aren't ready for the truth.

However, there are those who would swear that Bush is an alien!

If they're 'covering up' something, apparently they've done a very poor job of it, given the fact that you *think* they are.

Do you have any documentation or evidence to suggest that anyone in the US government wishes to cover up "UFO stuff"?

Is reality not interesting enough?

Do you actually believe that our government is so organized that they can keep such a secret?

I guess if you believe in UFOs then you would have enough imagination to believe in such a government!

PS: I have some alien photos if anybody is interested in purchasing them.

There is no proof that aliens have ever visited earth, even if they did the govt wouldn't tell us, it would cause worldwide hysteria and the collapse of social order and all of earths major religions.
