There are lots and LOTS of over-the-counter treatments for yeast infections now. They usually cost about ten bucks. Hit any grocery store or drug store and you'll find them in the women's health aisle. If you've never had a yeast infection before, though, and are just guessing that that is what you have, see a doctor before you do anything else. It could be a different type of infection that would require a different treatment.

If this is your first time experiencing something like this, go to your doctor to make sure it's a yeast infection.
If it's not your first time and you're sure its a yeast infection, go to the pharmacy and get some monistat. It works great. You'll still be uncomfortable for a couple of days, but it will go away. If it doesn't, go see your doctor.

As you grow older, you'll become more aware of what
things make you more likely to get yeast infections and
what things will decrease them.
Unfortunately, many of the things that increase the likelihood
of infection with one person decrease it with another, so
take all anecdotal information with a major grain of salt.
It may well be true for the answerer, but not for you.
Your doctor may prescribe you things, etc, but if this is the
first one, just go to a pharmacy and ask. The way you find
out is to simply try the things that everyone else does and
... uh ... keep notes.

you have to get medicine..call your obgyn and get either a prescription pill. You only take one pill or go to the pharmacy and get yeast infection cream.
If you never had one before, see the obgyn first. If you had them before and are SURE it's a yeast infection, then do what I said above. The three day treatment works real well.

If it is a yeast infection there are OTC medications you can buy in suppository or cream form...If it makes it worse or doesn't help then you need an exam and cultures to see if it is something else..some non STD's such as BV (bacterial vaginosis) can cause itching and burning..
