The glue most print shops use is very similar to Elmer's Glue. Line up your paper with a good clean edge on the side you want to glue together, then weigh the stack of paper down with a couple of heavy books or a brick or somesuch. Pour some Elmer's Glue into a small bowl, and generously (but not sloppily) brush the glue against the edge of the paper with a small paintbrush.

Let the notepads stand for at least four hours until the glue has cured, then lift off your weights and see how they do!

I like your sense of conservation, I hate the waste that goes on in the office. It is just so wasteful.

Now I do not know if you are cutting the paper or not but this is the idea for making the pads using Elmer's glue.

1) Elmer's School glue
2) Binder clips - 2
3) Rulers - 2
4) Water
5) Cup
6) Brush

Elmer's could be used full strength but for pads you could stretch it 1:2 - more water.

Using the rulers and the binders, clamp one edge of the papers together. Then using the brush and the glue or the glue solution, brush the glue on the edge of the pads.

It should dry in 15 minutes or so.

Do not un-clamp it until it is dry.

Applying another coat is OK too.

Good Luck and Thank You for the trees! :)

Good rubbery glue, even a think white glue will work just coat the edge of the pad a few time to make sure it holds together.
