There can be no argument against the fact that Peter Schmeichel is the greatest goalkeeper of all time. He was instrumental in helping Manchester United to win almost everything possible to win. He also was one of the heros when Denmark lifted the Euro 96 trophy. Many have told me that without 'the great Dane' between the sticks Denmark wouldn't have come close to winning.

The best overall player is more difficult. Such players as Pele, Maradona, Best and Zidane would all come close. However my personal choice would be Sir Bobby Charlton. It pains me to say it (as i'm Scottish) but he was an integeral part of England's 1966 World Cup winning side. He was the playmaker that all the other player wanted to give the ball to. It was the same at Manchester United at the time. Although we had Best, Law, Stiles, ect. It was Bobby that made things happen. He scored goals from midfield, (including 2 in the 1968 Europian Cup Final win over Benfica). To this day he is still United's top goalscorer and he wasn't even a striker. He also set up a countles number of goals for his team mates. Charlton was also a born leader. He knew what other had to do and made sure that they did it. This is one of the reasons why United were so successful at the time.

The greatest team in my opinion is surprizingly not Manchester United but the 1983 Aberdeen team. Under the managment of Alex Ferguson (not a Sir yet) Aberdeen were a match for any team in Europe. They beat both Rangers and Celtic to be crowned champions of Scotland and they beat the great Real Madrid in the final of the Europian Cup Winners Cup. They also beat Byern Munich in the quarter finals of the same trophy. The reaso why I think they are the greatest team of all time is because not only was it remarkable they did all this but they did it with pennies to spend. They couldn't do a Chelsea and buy the best players from around the world. They got all of their success due to young Scottish talent and reliable players such as Willie Miller, Alex McLeich and Gordon Strachan.

To sum up
best goalkeeper: Peter Schmeichel
best player: Sir Bobby Charlton
best team: Aberdeen (1983)

Apart from the current world-cup winning goalie, I think the best goalie of all time was Dino Zoff ( world cup winning goalie for Italy in 1982, also the captain).

The best player of all time for me was George Best.

The best team of all time has to be the English world cup winning side of 1966, also the French world cup winning side of 1998.
