Yes it can be done. If you're underage, then you'll need your parent's consent and you'll have to go before a judge. If your or legal age, then it's just a matter of maybe hiring an attorney and having it done. You will have to change your name also on your driver's license, your social securtiy card, school transcprits....stuff like that. It can be a pain, and depending on where you live, it can get pretty expensive to do all of this.

I can understand changing your name if your trying to hide for protection purposes. Like in a witness protection program but never really understood changing it because you do not like it.
I heard of a person that would change their name everytime their credit history would become bad but it didnt work out for long before the law caught on and when it all came down to it the court decided the best way to handle this from becomming a problem they gave her a sentence for each name. But to get back to the question at hand I would have to quote "A rose is a rose is a rose by any other name would still be a rose". by: Gertrude Stein in 1913

No matter what your name is you will always be you.
I would keep it and not just live with it but learn to be proud of it.

This guy was named John Latrine and he went to court to get his name changed. He told the judge "I would like to change my name because when people hear my name they think of the toilet". The judge said "I see your point. You may change your name. What do you want to change your name to?" and the man said "William Latrine".

You could always legally change it, if you do not like it. However, no matter if I hated my name or liked it, I would still keep it. It reminds me of my family tree. . . . .and heritage.
