I also had carpal tunnel during my pregnancy. I know this might sound discouraging since I know it's very painful but, the only thing that cures it is actually having the baby. After that the swelling goes down. Mine was so bad during my third trimester that I couldn't even make a fist or pick up a gallon of milk. It took about a month after having the baby before mine was completely gone. My doctor told me the only thing I could take while I was pregnant was Tylenol. You might even want to talk to your doctor about the special wrist bands they make for carpal tunnle now. I would definitley discuss it with the doctor.

When an arm brace doesn't work, a doctor can inject cortisone (or other steroids) into the joint to reduce the swelling. It's minimally invasive and I've heard it can really ease the pain for severe cases. They might also proscribe a strong anti-imflammatory deemed safe for pregnancy. Also recommend alternating hot and cold compresses.

You might also look into something called the "Carpal Tunnel Solution" (no surgery, injections or drugs) developed for pregnant women by Dr. Morgan.

Carpal tunnel is a build up of junk in your wrist usually from repetitive motion. Health magnets should help relieve the pain. http://www.yourwellnesshome.net/images/Weintraub_CTS.pdf

Our cells are charged positive and negative and when influenced by the magnet, it must move. Therefore, circulation is improved. The tingling is due to lack of circulation in the extremities.

Try one of the cheap magnetic bracelets first at the swap meet and if that doesn't work, try one of the more expensive health magnets http://www.yourwellnesshome.net/elastomag.html

Surgery should be a last resort
