In all my years on this god for saken planet, I can honestly say, I never been asked that type of question..
Although come to think about it, if you are the same gender as your own kid. Wouldn't you name your child, a name in which you could see yourself being called?

If I could have named myself at birth I would heve named myself Onyx Firespinner. Becouse onyx is most times black and black is my favorite color. And firespinning is my favorite past time. I hate my birth name. It has no meaning or definition. My last name isnt mine becouse my mother was maried to a man who is not my father when I was born. And my first name makes me sick to my stomach becouse it originates from the bible and I dispise christianity for saying that thier way is the only way. Thus denying the majority of the earth entry through the gates of heven. In short my name means exactly dick.

I think that would be so cool, but there are soooo many names I like. Once when I was about 8 years old I was complaining that I didn't like my name and my dad said when I turn 18 I can change my name.

I'd have been a Jennifer. I really liked that name, especially as a kid. I haven't changed my name or dislike it, but it seems my mom picked it out of a hat when she was surprised to get a girl (she was set for an "Antonio"). I wish she had selected something with meaning to her or anyone else. BTW, I'm actually Rosario.

I love the name Elise. I have a very old fashioned name for being 30 but Courtney Love named her daughter the same so it can not be that bad.

I didn't like my entire name, so at 17, I changed all my names with my parents permission. Even my last name. It really hurt my father, but he wasn't in my life then and I didn't care what he thought. Still don't.

I won't say my real name, but one day, while my father was out of the house, my mother and I were talking and out of nowhere, I asked her, where did she come up with my name, she told me, that she had nothing to do with naming me, she said my father played that role, by naming me after him. My father and I have the same initials, his real name is Marvin, now imagine trying to make up a girls name, that is similar to that, lol.
