to upgrade the 8.5.1 o the 9.0.4 and if so how is this done...? can it be dowloaded for free....?

hopefully find the os 9 cd. dont know if they still sell it. you would need at least a 300 mhz processor.

yes, u should be able to use 9.0.4 on your iMac. Unfortunately, apple does not sell the installation cd's for Mac OS 9 anymore. you can probably go to limwire.com to find it, but that would be illegal to download it...

You probably have a try loading iMac G3

You probably can run OS 9.2 (the last stable version) of Mac Classic OS. Runs on my dad's slot loading iMac circa 1999.

It will run 9 ok. You will probably need the white cd with the golden 9 on it. You will have to purcase this or have someone give you one.
Updates to 9.2 are free downloads from Apple.
