I have a 2003 Chevy Cavalier that needs a new O2 sensor before the cat. I also have a perfectly good o2 sensor just laying around from a 4 cyl Chevy S10 (has the same Engine just not the flex fuel version or fwd) and I was wondering if the part is compatable.

The only difference between a flex fuel vehicle and a regular one is that flex fuel vehicles have an additional sensor in the fuel system to detect the level of ethanol in the fuel. The pcm adjusts the fuel schedule accordingly. So, the O2 sensors still fuction the exact same way. If the connector is the same, I'd give it a try. Worst thing that can happen is your engine may not run as well or set a fault code. Fault codes are easy to clear, and then you'll know. A dollar saved is a dollar earned!!!!!!!!!

I don't think for the flex fuel , but the sensors may be different in design internally and may not work... a call to reference them to the chevy dealer may help

it is not compatible.o2 sens. regulate the gases in ur exhaust and tell computer to lean or richen the injectors.flex fuel vehicles put out diff. exhaust gases than reg. gas motors.it mite fit and all that but it will definitely kepp the check eng lite on and most likely make engine run like poop.
