well, if you are going to sharm al sheik, while in egypt, yes you should go see the pyramids. its quite a drive from sharm al sheik. are you sure you want to go right now? lots of bs going on in gaza right now, just a stones throw away from sharm al sheik. nice touristy place to visit though. if i were you, id see jordans petra while i am in that area. its un freaking believable! the most beautiful place i have ever seen.

Sharm El Sheikh is quite a distance from Giza where the pyramids are. Take a direct flight to cairo (50mins), then book a hotel for a couple of nights there - 5 star hotels should be in the range of $120-180 per perspon/night. Ask the hotel to arrange for a guided tour to the pyramids and it should cost around $50 per person.

Plane ticket is in the range of $150-300

Sharm El Sheikh is one of the most incredible places on earth. Coral reefs are just perfect. I suggest that you go there on January or February. How far it is depends on where you come from. If you are coming from outside Egypt you can go there by plane, they have an international airport there. You can go to a youth hostel and it will cost you just a few dollars per night. If you are rich then hotels are a good choice. The Pyramids are quiet far from Sharm El-Sheikh. They are about 600 km far. However, you can take a plane from or a bus (which is much cheaper) to Cairo in order to visit the pyramids and other tourist attractions there.
Wish you a lot of fun

The pyramids are at Giza near Cairo... in the North of Egypt. The Valley of the Kings is in the south, I think you'll find. Sharm El Sheikh is across the water at the north end of the Red Sea making a visit to the Pyramids at the very least, expensive, I imagine, not to mention long.

Sharm is beautiful, the people are really great! Do go to Shark Bay and snorkel or dive, its fantastic. Remember to drink plenty of water (bottled) as it is really hot! Don't be 'English' and agree to go into someones shop as you won't get out without buying something you don't want! Also, haggle for everything and I mean everything! The trip to see the pyramids takes forever on a bus and the drivers are a law unto themselves, expect loads of horns (they seem to do this for fun) Fly to Cairo and do the trip with your tour guide, costs about £150 - £200 depends on which tour company you are with. Have a great holiday!

You'll need t take a flight to go to Giza to see the Pyramids. bus will be so tiring and to long of a ride. The ticket will cost you around 200$. by plane it's a one hour flight ... a bus would take 8 or 9 hours.
