Most Starbucks and cafes like panera and libraries offer this. Once you are close to one of these locations, just connect to them using your laptop, and you have internet.

I also think there is a way to connect to the internet using a cell phone. Only certain phones work. I've also heard that this is slow. The only advantage to this is that you can have internet anywhere.

I still think you should go with trying to find a location that has free wireless internet, but in the end, it is your decision.
