Without life, there couldn't be death.
But the reverse is not true. Not until proven anyway.
So I guess we are living... whilst we know our ultimate fate is death. However, when we die, it could be sudden, so I don't think everyone is simply 'dying' [verb]... unless that state is a prolonged one due to ill-health or unavoidable circumstances. So then... you are then either living, 'dying' or dead.
Take your pick.

As long as you have the desire to live life, you are living. If you know you are dying and "give up the ghost", as they say, you are then dying. Even terminally ill patients can make the most out of life. They can love their families, create art, go on trips, and experience brief moments of happiness. They most certainly are living, until their bodies tell them it's time to go.

We are living. As long as we are alive we are living , we are learning a lot of things. Gradually we are becoming richer and richer with time. may be after certain age the rate of regeneration of cells are (biologically) not to much but that does not mean that we are dying. Spiritually we are becoming more matured to reach the goal.

There's an old saying:

"Life is the Only Completely Terminal Disease"

The Who said it too: "No one gets out alive".

We are dying, slowly, too caught up in the stupid little trivia we fill our lives with to really realize this is all there is, once this is gone, it doesnt come again.

I remember reading somewhere that our bodies begin the process of dying in our early 20's. If it's not growing it's dying. Scarey huh?
