when you first met your mate,did you know at that time he or she was the one you were going to spend the rest of your life with.and what attracted you to him or her?was it love at first sight?

I knew right away - not love at first sight, or anything, but something was different... I was seriously dating someone else at the time, so I had the luxury of time to see what the differences were between the two men. What attracted me to him? At the beginning, I had hints of his good character. I had met him at church (I was up in the choir loft, he was in the congregation), and he was a "stranger" in our small community. Turns out he was visiting - and was a younger brother of our priest. My dad was deacon in the church, and my mom invited the men over for lunch. After lunch, she "dared" me to ask the guy out that night. Well, I took the dare, and he said yes. That was my first hint. Went to a movie and coffee - he opened up, showed his good sense of humor (really, really important to me), intelligence, and common sense (also very important these days). Anyway, the story's getting too long - there's much more involved - but there was that elusive "something" different. I don't know if it's pheremones or what, but it's there. We've been married 17 years. He's still funny and smart and we have a wonderful life! Good luck to you - things like this happen when you least expect them. I don't believe in "looking for love" - it seems to come when you least expect it, but you are actually ready for it to come into your life.
