I need to know what you guys think now. Read my one of my other questions that say "Can someone please tell me what's going on." I'm at the end of my wits right now. I've been trying to go to sleep for the last 4 hours, and in this amount of time i've had this dream more times than i've had it before in my life. My mom woke me up to go to church this morning, and I didn't. I was tired, and I feel like I'm getting sick. I haven't gone for a while. But I don't think this is the point. I tried to go back to sleep right after she left. I did, but a few minutes after, I started having this dream. I did what someone told me to do last time a few nights ago, say God's name in my head, and it does seem like whatever it is doesn't like it, they seem to shudder and change the way they are causing me pain. But I've done it after this, too. It doesn't work very well anymore. I'm so tired. Maybe this has to do with my completely screwed up schedule...........

Somehow, I've gotten to where I go to bed at 2 - 4 AM and I wake up at 1 - 2 PM. Could this be what's happening? Because every time I try to go to sleep again today, I can't. I wake up only a few minutes after. I'm not sure what to do at this point. Where are you supposed to go about pain in dreams? My cousin wants to go see a counselor, but would counseling really take it away? I don't think talking to someone would really help me very much. I've talked to loads of people about this already. I've also tried various other things to get it to stop in the few hours I've been messing with this dream. I heard peeping, like from chicks, and bird noises, at one point. But the birds outside my window may have been interfering with the dream. I've tried all kinds of stuff....

What I was going to say, is that it seems like I open my eyes, and I can see my room. And it seems like I'm only paralyzed from the waist down. But I brought my "hand" up and scratched my forehead, I was trying to leave a mark, and when I really woke up, nothing was there. When I think I wake up, it's not even real.

I have already responded to this in detail in your other open question on this subject. Please read my response there. And please don't be afraid to sleep, it's not going to help with anything and lack of sleep can lead to other severe emotional and physical conditions.

If you feel physically sick you should insist on seeing your doctor.

Wow. I read the descriptions of your dreams, and it sounds to me like something is f**king with you in a big way. I've never had anything that bad happen to me personally, but I do remember having some dreams when I was about 5 or so where I knew I was dreaming, couldn't escape from the dream, and felt something grab hold of me (invisible). It happened again when I was 22. My girlfriend at the time came and woke me up; she said I was screaming so loud that she hoped I didn't wake up the neighbors.

I'm not religious or Christian, so I can't speak on the effectiveness of prayer, but I've been told it works. I haven't reached any conclusions on God except that I believe you can't get help from a God you have no faith in. It sounds like since your faith has diminished, the effectiveness of your prayers has diminished along with it.

If prayer isn't working, you could try meditation. You could try breathing and visualizing a protective sphere of light surrounding you. I've heard that is a common technique for these things that is fairly effective. You can also trying repeating affirmations while you fall asleep like "I am safe and protected" or something like that.

Obviously your parents aren't much help; happens to the best of us. I would say just keep them in the dark before they send you to a shrink or put you on drugs. I don't know what else to say - good luck and I hope you find a way to beat this.

I read your old post. I can emphathize with you regarding your situation. For a long time I had recurring dreams that were dark and scary. I won't go into details but the dreams started to manifest in me physically over time. I would have bruises and such from trying to fight whatever it was in my dream.

I too am Christian, but non-practicing. Where I believe in God and his teachings - I just don't agree with the interpretation of "the church". I would say His name whenever I would have these dreams - not just think it in my head but physically fight to say "God". I kept repeating it and my dreams would stop for the time being. They kept returning for a while but then they stopped after I fought it so many times.

However I do think because you are so young that you might want to see a therapist. Your dreams may be due to something that you experienced as a young child and are repressing. At the least talking it over with a person who is unbiased towards you may help in you resolving the conflict that is within you. (Remember if you choose to see a therapist make sure that you trust that person and that it is the right fit for you. It's your time and your money and if the therapist isn't compatible with you, go to someone else.)

God only gives us what we can handle. This may be a test of your faith but there is nothing wrong with re-evaluating your relationship with God. As long as YOU are comfortable with your thoughts on God and your relationship with Him; don't let anyone else tell you what kind of relationship you should have with Him.

I wish you all the best of luck with your situation. I hope that you will find resolution. God bless!

Change you diet and exercise program, whatever you are doing now, change it. Eat more fruits and veggies, eat as much organic food as you can. It can be hard to go completely organic, but you can. Stop drinking sodas, drink water. Go for a walk everyday for at least an hour. Stay faithful to God. Be prayerful, try not to focus on your problems and issues, ask God to help you, give your worries, cares, dramas, bad dreams to God and let Him make room for changes in your life. Get involved in a volunteer progam or help out with some of the daily responsibilities that go on at church. Taking the focus off of yourself and helping someone else will make a huge difference in your daily existence. Go to bed earlier, relax before you go to bed, don't watch or listen to anything that is exciting. Listen to calm music, read a book, something fun. Obviously you need to change your schedule if you can't change the entire schedule, for whatever reason, make small changes to your current lifestyle. Best Wishes.

don't worry, the more you worry and stress, the more it'll hurt. take a yoga and meditation class. first learn the basics and then talk to your teacher about your nightmares and ask for a few asanas and meditating procedures that would bring an end to them. you can also try drinking herbel tea before going to bed (chamomile and honey and lemon are particularly soothing flavours available) you can also take a nice, warm bath before climbing into bed. yogurt or warm milk also would help (maybe you can alternate by drinking herbel tea one night and then warm milk the next) these things are not only good for preventing/stopping nightmares, but they will also relax you after those nightmares stop. good luck :)

Alika,

Slow down and think about this.

There is no inspiration or godliness in hysteria. Any belief or religion or God that throws you down on the floor, makes you babble, or orders you to do things is not a god at all, but a demon.

There is an essential dignity to human beings that it is always wrong to violate.

God has nothing to do with hysteria or speaking in tongues or handling snakes or superstition. God does not strike us with lightening or haunt us with nightmares.

God gave us reason. Demons give us fits and superstitions and gossip and rituals.

There's something wrong with your church. What is your mom pushing you to do? DON'T DO IT.

It's not the sleeping habit. I sleep at 6am and woke up at 2pm and I'm happy. Maybe you worried too much. Try to meditate as you go to sleep, control your breath slowly, and don't think about anything, just concentrate on your breath, naturally, relax, you'll fall asleep eventually. Don't worry about anything, I've been through this in years of my teenages, you'll made it. Trust me.
