If the automatic update feature is on, windows will take care of the repetition. So you need not worry much about you already having it. It would be a new patch, and it won't hurt if you already have it

If this is the only update that keeps recurring, I'd guess you've got malware on your system.
Run your virus & spyware scanners. You can also run the online scanners provided by McAfee, Symantec, TrendMicro, Microsoft, etc.
Also check you Windows Update history to see if the update you did was successful. You can also look for it in Control Panel|Add/Remove Programs. Check the "Show updates" box and you shd be able to see this update.

If it is in the form of an email, do not trust it. Many viruses come into my emails as though they are legit. I ignore them.
Go to Windows update. It is the only trusty place. It will first check your computer and report back what you need to install. If yes, just go ahead and install it. Probably the previous one did not install correctly.
This is so simple.

It's happened to me, my computer will say it's already there, and it will install over the existing one without a problem, just let it install.

Just install it, it will overwrite the current one. It may be slightly updated
