I was induced for my two first pregnancies and both of them were at about 37 weeks, it really is only 3 weeks early and you could go into labor at any time and the Dr. would let you have the baby. are they inducing because of some reason like th baby is too big or lack of fluid. There really shouldn't be any complications. My experience is that yes it does hurt a bit more than natural labor, but you do tend to forget the pain!!! There are medications that the Dr can give you to lessen the pain and you can also get an epidural. Hope this helps. Good Luck.

Having labor induced usually means a very intense labor, but it's also usually much shorter. Scary, but it's OK. I was induced with my second one and by the time I delivered her, I only had to push once! That part was great. If you're being induced early, there must be a reason, but I can't offer any opinion on that since I don't know the situation. You should be able to discuss this with your doctor.

Are you wanting to be induced early? Because if that's the case, I don't think it's good. There's a reason those little babies are supposed to stay in the "oven" for 9 months...or 40 weeks. Nowadays, with epidurals, I wouldn't think it would hurt anymore or any less than if you went into normal labor.

I had both mine naturally @ 40 wks. They were gonna induce both but luckily I had one the day b4 the inducing & the other 3 days b4 inducing. I've heard inducing is worst than natural from the doctors & hospital staff. So unless there a risk factor for the pregnancy, id give it a chance to happen naturally like it's supposed to.

it doesn't hurt to be induced, and a baby is full term at 36 weeks, so you should be fine. Enjoy the time before the baby comes, and try not to get to stressed out about it. Doctors have been doing this for a long time now and know what they are doing

at 40 weeks u are full term but that date is a plus or minus 2 weeks because u can never be sure of the actual date .. 37 weeks is fine as for hurting more hang as long as u can with no drugs if thats the way u want it they have a local pain reliver they do in a shot that helps rather then an epie .. talk to your dr about your concerns and the very best wishes to your new lil one

Well if your doctor thinks it's best for your baby then dont worry it should be okay. I went into labor naturally but they gave me cotosin(sp?) while I was in labor to hurry it up. I would never want to have the cotosin again, it made the pain unbearable and I started to vomit. I wasnt in that much pain before the cotosin, so I'm not gonna lie to you it's probally gonna be more painful so dont rule out the epidural(sp?).

The doctor wouldn't induce you if it weren't safe, don't worry about that. For me, getting induced meant having quicker (closer together) and harder contractions. Later found out that this is common. Don't be concerned; trust your doctor.
