Even though we proved the holocaust was a hoax why do people still believe the 6 million lie?

Why is it impossible to have an objective discussion on historical events. How can a certain subject in regards to the history of our civilization be considered so unltimately taboo that one is completely osticized for merely seeking the real truth.

My Grandmother was in Treblinka for 9 months and has the tattoos to prove it. She lost 4 of her family members and to this day when she talks about it, she shivers and breaks down crying. She's been on medication for 13 years because of severe depression and anxiety because of it.

So don't tell ME there was no holocaust, you ignorant JERK.

I don't know where this nonsense comes from or just how stupid someone has to be to believe it.

I have either visited the sites or actually been to such death camps as Daucau, Bergen Belson, Auschwitz, Treblenca and others and I've talked to survivors of the Holocaust and I just can't imagine how ANYONE could be so stupid as to NOT believe that millions of Jews, Gypsys and other 'misfits' ended up either dead in mass graves or in a gas chamber.

If you have EVER been to one of the death camps that have been opened to the public, you can NOT tell me you have walked into a gas chamber and NOT smelled the residual odor from Cyclon B or walked through the camp... visited the ovens or seen the cells or seen the photos in the museums and came away with anything but a deep belief in the fact that the Holocaust DID happen.

The only people who are so ignorant and stupid that they insist the holocaust didn't happen are also the only people who have never visited the sites and seen for theirselves what it REALLY looks like in the death camps that still remain. They probably have never even been out of the U.S., let alone traveled to Hungary or Poland or Germany or other countries to see for theirselves the REAL camps and the REAL tragedy of what happened.

I've been to the camps or the sites of most of the camps and it effected me deeply. When I see this garbage being spouted by ignorant people who don't know what they are talking about because all they know is what they read in some book written by someone who is just as stupid as they are... it just really upsets me.

Oh... and I'm not Jewish... I'M A CATHOLIC.!

The reason people in Europe often profess to believe this lie is the fact that a 10-year prison terms awaits anyone who is daring enough to defy the legal prohibition on Holocaust dissent.

And a lot of people simply are not acquainted with revisionist material. They've either been too scared of being caught reading about it, or else they've succumbed to a form of Stockholm syndrome: the fear of being punished becomes the basis of belief.

Some of the people who have seen revisionist material aren't adept enough in the sciences involved to make a competent judgment, and so the danger of political incorrectness makes a kind of default choice for them.

But the evidence that the Holocaust is a hoax is there, and it can be examined and understood by most people with some effort. Prussian Blue, anybody?

Well, there doesn't seem to be any proof that it was a "hoax" and I don't really think that's what you meant to say. I think what you meant to say was that the actual aspects of the Holocaust were exagerated. One interesting point I didn't know before was that many Jews actually died from Typhus, not gas. Although I'm not convinced that the gassing and other forms of torture were completely fictional, I do feel that the Holocaust was exagerated.

In regards to your question detail: you're not actually trying to have an objective discussion about anything. You're setting up your preferred answer. Were you actually hoping to have a well-reasoned discussion, you wouldn't have phrased the question the way you did. And if you were actually trying to have a discussion about this based on logic and fact, you would have used logic and fact in your question, rather than conjecture, personal belief, and ridiculously poor sources.

Tell that to the millions of Jews that lived to tell it and the millions that didn't. It certainly WASN'T a hoax but, a terrifying time for the people that lived through it. I wonder where you got your information. I'm sure you can find ALOT of information about the TRUTH on the web.

I wasn't aware that it was proven a hoax. Were there not physical records of those who were brought into the concentration camps? Family members of some of the victims still cannot account for the fates of those that were lost during these times...

The Holocaust has been proven a million times over. There are countless witnesses and documents to back it up. A number of websites, books, and documentaries are available to assist you if you need further proof.
