I would really like to see not only Minsk, but the old fortress city of Brest. I have seen most of Central/Eastern Europe, but would like to go to Kalliningrad and the baltic states as well

Yes, just to see how the last communist dictatorship looks like...
Going to Belarus must be like travelling back in time, 20 years back.
I hope Belarus joins Russia again:you are the same people, same culture, language (ok, there is a dead language called Belorussian). ANd Russia is rich and powerful with a good economic growth these days.
