Hi! "Singa" means lion and "pura" means city. It was actually called "Singapura" but in English, it is called "Singapore". It is a small island surrounded by waters. It is also known as a "Flower City". It has a history of more hundred over years already and the people in the early years of Singapore are settlers from different parts of the world. Singapore is an english speaking southeastern asian country that is just south of Malaysia. The country was founded by a British Trading Colony in 1819. It joined the Malaysian Federation in 1963, but became independant two years later.

oh happy you are right Thailand then Malaysia then Singapore.
my husband went to Thailand for work and when his 30 days was up on his passport the sent him to Singapore for the weekend .
i just assumed Singapore was closest. but i guess it was to dangerous to send him to Malaysia. so the went with Singapore.
