It appears to have a reasonable description, in a qualitative way, of the seasons and the phases of the Moon. But it has some of naive explanations of how it works. For example: "In the circumference of the sun there are seven portions of light which are added to it more than to the moon, and in definite measures it is transferred till the seventh portion of the sun is exhausted." In any case, there's not a lot of accuracy there to dismiss, though I would take issue with "the year is exactly as to its days three hundred and sixty-four".

It's also got a lot of folklore like "and through the third portal in the west come cloud and hoar-frost, and snow and rain, and dew and locusts".

As a link between science and religion, it pretty clearly illustrates what scientists think about the "science" in the Bible: that it's limited to the understanding of people at the time of its writing.

Enoch lived 365 years and never saw death because, in his days, he "pleased God" and God "took" him: "And all the days of
Enoch were three hundred sixty and five years: And Enoch walked with God: and he (Enoch) was not (to be found that is); for God took him (Genesis 5:23-24)." This so-called "book" of Enoch is nothing more than a fabrication and has nothing at all to do with the Written Word of God, the Bible. It was a book (uninspired) and written and quickly REJECTED by the universal body of Believers in Christ Jesus. The Bible has 66 canonized books which have been accepted and make up the entire Bible since the year 96 AD when the Apostle John penned the Bookof the Revelation of Jesus Christ while he was a prisoner upon the isle of Patmos, off the shores of Turkey, then named "Asia Minor". The book of "Enoch" is nothing more than a false fabrication and has nothing at all to do with God or Christ or Christianity or anything prophetic according to Word of God, the Bible (by which I mean the King James Version and NO OTHER). The "accuracy" of the book of Enoch? What "accuracy?" It is in fact, full of "fallicies"...and not only am I a degreed Theologian (both Masters and Doctorate degrees)...but my foremost "hobby" is ASTRONOMY!!! I own a number of telescopes and have studied the heavens for 25 years...and nothing in the so-called "book of Enoch" adds NOTHING to the present-day knowledge of either the Bible OR "Astronomy". So what are you getting at with your question??? I would love to hear your knowledge on this matter.

This is to respond to the first answer from crazz_32; You cannot prove God with science. He has purposly made it that way. God is outside of time and space and he made us not we ourselves and not we him. If you dont have faith then you dont have the true and living God. true and living meaniong, the only god that answers prayer, the only god that can produce miracles and blessing. Faith, it's faith that gives the the blind man sight, its faith that makes the mute man talk, the lame man walk, and the deaf man hear.
Again if you dont have faith you dont have Jesus Christ, and he can not attain him with science. God is the one who made science. Millions of Christian around the world can truthfully tell you that Jesus is real and every day he's doing miracle in someones life; or providing a blessing to someone
I myself am a miracle; when i was young I had got very sick and fell into a coma. The doctors told my parents that I would either die or be a vegtable at best. We'll obviously I'm not dead, and I'm not a vegtable, else I couldnt be here to type this. parents prayed for me and they got family and friend to pray for me; and God produced a miracle.
I remember back in late 2004 or early 2005 there was a story from Africa if my memory serves me right; that a man had died, actually died and wa embalmed (all the body fluids removed and replaced with preserving stuff to use the body for the funeral), family and friend prayed for him, and to the shock of the coriner or whover had possesion of the body; the man came back to life. Remember the man was actually medically dead and his fluids had been removed. But God (Jesus Christ) showed up and brought the man back to life.
Man, I telling you, you just dont know what the true and living God can do!From giving blind men sight and deaf men hearing, to making the lame to walk and the mute to talk (not even mentioning a bunch of other miracles Jesus did), God is more than capable of Evan making the dead to rise.
To those that dont know Jesus Christ.....I strongly reccomend that you get with the program. Do you want to have the joy of Jesus or be left to face the tortures of the Devil?

Joshua 24:15-And if it seem evil unto you to serve the LORD, choose you this day whom ye will serve; whether the gods which your fathers served that were on the other side of the flood, or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land ye dwell: but as for me and my house, we will serve the LORD.

It would, as you say, be helpful to read the book. I have never heard of it. Assuming that it speaks of things astronomical, does it have formulae which correctly compute astronomical events of the past, and does it compute any future events differently than would be computed using Kepler's laws? If so, there is the possibility of a test. If not, fuggedaboudit, as Kepler works just fine.

Let me answer that with a question:

How can you prove the accuracy of the Book of Enoch?

How can one believe in a bunch of stone throwing, crucifying, superstitious ignorant people. How many truly Honest people do you know today,Not many.Well it was even worse then, dishonesty and deceit. How they would embellish everything they saw, because they where ignorant. We are still today, but not to that degree.I refuse to be indoctrinated by ignorance,I'm looking for the truth and facts. The slaughter that's going on today as in our past is because of ignorant zlots.

Science is about observation and data, not faith. Please don't confuse the two.
