the father and i were never married and he is pretty much worthless. we have already applied with all the government agencies and are waiting to see if we qualify for ssi but the little i get from food stamps helps alot. ps i am working 2 jobs to try to make ends meet and would love to find a rich man as some have suggested but where are they?

Two suggestions; visit a Social Security office to see if they may be of any help. You can probably call them and explain you circumstances to find out what, if anything, the child might be eligible for. Next, get in touch with you local Department of Human Services. There will be an application to fill out, and some wait to see somebody, but they may be your best bet. My daughter is bipolar, and they provided insurance that covered everything for her treatment and medication until she was 18.

Find a rich man and marry him.
You can also try medicaid (Job and family services), if you dont make much money they will help with all of the medical expenses.

Would the child qualify for disability throught medicare? If so it would pay the medical bills and give a monthly check.

You never said if you were single by divorce or widowed. If divorced, how much alimony do you receive per month?
