Not true at all, I have cold sores all the time and I do not have herpes. Cold sores are RELATED to the herpes virus but it doesn't mean you have the STD or anything, it just means you have a cold sore which are very common and mean nothing.

There are different types of herpes, not only the sexually transmitted kind. Actually chicken pox is a different form of herpes too. You don't have an STD. You just have a cold sore.
P.S. I'm a mom of two girls close to your age now, but I still remember what it was like to get freaked out about that kind of stuff. You're ok, sweetie, I promise.

Cold sores are common and are a form of herpes. No need to be terrified. It's genital herpes that are a problem. That kind is caused by sex with someone who has the virus. Some don't know they have it until they have a break out of the sores.Unfortunately there is no cure and it can lie dormant in a body for years before they have another out break of the sores. So your OK don't worry any more.

Cold sores are a type of herpes. It's not the type you're thinking about. You should see a doctor and they can prescribe a medication for you so that they disappear. Herpes (any form) is a virus- meaning you can't get rid of if...
Good luck, remember stress brings on outbreaks, so don't stress!

Yes and don't let it scare you. Herpes is a virus, so if you've had chicken pox, you've had a type of herpes, if you've had shingles, you've had a differnet type of herpes. All that can be done with all this is that the symptoms can be treated, and let your body's natural immunity do its job. Don't worry, you'll be ok.

Cold sores are a form of herpes, the simplex 2 but they are not the STD type. They are highly contagious though, so you want to be careful and not share drinks, makeup, etc with people while your cold sore is active. Chances are you will get cold sores for the rest of your life. Abreva is a good OTC medication you can use when you feel it starting that will shorten its duration.

Don't worry! There are 2 types of herpes: the one you get on your lips (like my dad, mum, and older sister - can't believe I don't have it!); and genital herpes. It's different. It's not sexual, don't worry!
However, if you have a cold sore, don't kiss people, don't share your bottles, and don't go down on your BF (I know you're only 14, but I'm just telling you for when you start doing it!). AND if you have a BF who has a cold sore one day, don't let him go down on you!
