i know this sounds really crude but its something i have always wondered about....why is it u can sit on the toilet have a poo and the smell dont worry u that much ...but if u walk past the toilet or go in after some1 else has had one its makes u heave....hmmm !!!

Most normal people aren't into the smell of anyone's fecal matter but have an easier time tolerating their own.

The same reason that when you fart, it doesn't smell as bad as when someone else does it.
You're comfortable or semi-okay with your bodily smells. Other peoples you aren't used to.

The same reason people really can't smell their own BO. It's your smell and you own it. Carry matches when out in public.

The smell gradually surrounds you,that way you get used to it.whereas walking past its full flavour behaviour and makes you want to pass out with the stench.
