The correct answer depends upon the type of mower .. A little pusher type just turn it over and pour it out ,then use one of the solvents, like paint thinner or the carburetor cleaner. Swish it around a few times, then dump it , then do the same with regular oil;, then dump it out, that should get most of it. Fill it with regular oil.MFG recommended type. It still may smoke a little so just point it towards towards the neighbors... NOW if it's a tractor, their a little tough to turn over. But they're easier. just drain out the normal way ,at the drain plug. Then put a little solvent back in and try to shake it a little ,then drain, repeat filling with prop per oil ,crank the starter a few tomes ,,,Don't start it, Then drain again and fill property also may still smoke some , point the exhaust in the same direction good luck---fl inspect@yahoo.com

You can use a long, thin pipette. (sp?) It's like what you use to suck the brooth out of gravy. You can simply suck the gas out of it. Hobby store might sell them....you use them in Science classes. Or make sure you have like an oil pan or something underneath it. And making SURE that the GAS CAP is on tight, because you don't want to loose that gas. Better yet...wrap a sandwich baggy over the cap then rubberband it well to make sure you don't have a lot of leakage. Then with the oil cap off... Turn the mower over. The gas will drain out onto your oil pan and not onto the ground putting toxin everywhere. (carefull of the fumes...wear a bandana or mask) Or check your local phone book and look under LawnMower Repair......they might have something there or be able to give you some expert advise on other ways to get it out.

Good Luck

Take the oil cap off and turn to mower upside down to drain the oil pan. Read the manual and refill as much oil as needed. It may smoke some, but you should be alright.

Don't use the mower!! UNTIL... you take out the gasoline. If it is a push mower siphon the gas out, use rags ro soak it out, if oil holder is removeable, remove it and empty it, or just turn it upside down. Rider mower, siphon, soak it out, or remove holder. Or, just take it to a lawn mower repair person.

Drain the oil/gasoline from your lawnmower and refill with oil. The oil that was there is now too thin for your engin to run properly.

ouch. my brother did that once on a larger scale - he poured water into the oil thing on his old volkswagon bug. had to get a whole new engine. your's probably isn't that serious, as gasoline can evaporate quickly - I'd suggest draining it, letting it sit a few days, then filling it again with oil and see how it goes. should be okay.

omg, i did that once.

I just mowed it and it smoked a bit. I don't know if I would actually suggest you do this though. Call the lawn mower repair shop and ask for suggestions.

geeze..... just drain it and refill with fresh oil..... after a couple hours drain and refill with fresh to just insure its all out... (of course it would get burned off anyway) no need for special cleanings or anything.
