It's a hobby. You're sick in bed. What do you do? You watch your fav show and then once you've seen all the episodes 3 times, you read your fav novel. The olympics are on. What do you do? You're not going to fly to where-ever and spend all that money, you watch it on TV. You just want to have fun. What do you do? You turn on the TV and watch it until you're sick of it, then answer qs on Answers. TV isn't just a hobby. It's a way of LIFE! You breath TV. You watch TV. You smell TV. You LIVE TV!!

Watching TV can not be a hobby,but time passs.You don't communicate with others while watching TV.

From my point of view.. A hobby is something that stimulates the mind.
Watching the television is less stimulating than sleeping. Fact.
Judging by your grammar in asking the question.. I think less television and maybe a college class or two might be more appropriate. THAT could be a rewarding hobby.

I would hardly consider sitting on a couch and staring at a screen for hours on end to be an "activity" in any sense of the word..
