Yes, you will be 18 on July 30, 2008. Anyone that will be 18 years of age by January 20th of 2009 can vote in the election of 2008. The case laws state that as long as you turn 18 before the person voted for takes office, it is a legal legitimate vote.

The forms state that you have to be 18 before registering or casting your vote, however case law has over-ruled this.

You are way within all three requirements.

And yes you can vote at the age of 17 in the primary elections for president in your state, because no-one takes office until the general election which will put you at 18.

It only takes 2 minutes to register if you go to the main voting office. And the elections are not until November. You should be ok even if you register by mail.

You will be old enough to vote, register at least 3 month's before the election, say on your birthday for instance and hope the religious right wing hasn't taken over and ended all elections by then.

You can register to vote prior to your birthday, you simply cannot vote before your birthday.

The Supreme Court has also ruled that you are eligable to vote in any primaries for the general election even though you may not be 18. This is because you have the right to determine who you will be voting for in November.

Call your local NAACP chapter or the Democratic party headquarters and they will take care of you. On election day they will come and get you, pay you and even tell you who to vote for. I'm assuming your black. If not ignore all my previous post.
